The Urban Farm.
A space that grew from a humble backyard to a half acre lot on Mount Washington.
Countless hours went into education on how to successfully execute show-stopping flowers in our Pittsburgh climate. This research allowed for a passion to flourish. All of this was happening in Kelly's tiny Mount Washington backyard.
The Big Ham Group, who owns the land at the Church building, knew it was a no brainer to expand this flower farm into a larger plot of land. Kelly's savvy eye, green thumb and dedication made it an easy decision to partner. The network of our strong local tavern, provided a great community of support from the start, leading to floral design jobs and a platform of thousands of followers who immediately jumped on board to support this local start up business.
Armful of Flowers will bridge the gap between florist and community by growing local, fresh, and unique stems tucked away right in this urban neighborhood. We will create a space where friends and neighbors can gather and feel the same sense of joy we feel when harvesting and arranging.
Our initiatives include a large focus on hands-on education with flower arranging classes, gardening classes and children’s events; floral sales through monthly subscription services, farmers markets and local pop up vending opportunities, seasonal arrangement sales, and pick your own flower experiences.
